Early Valentine's Celebration: Day 1

Mommy's corner: We enjoyed a simple, complimentary Continental breakfast at our hotel. (Who passes up free food?)

Then we went to check out the Chinese Cultural Fair in Downtown San Diego.

I was reminded that this year is the year of the Dog, according to the Chinese zodiac.

There was a large tent with fun craft activities for kids - I'm sure Nicole would have enjoyed making something here!

Then we enjoyed lunch at Islander Grill - a local hole-in-the-wall that serves food from Guam. Even though we had to wait over half-an-hour for our food, it was quite good! And we spent the time wondering where exactly is Guam...?

Took a quick picture in the dark movie theatre - we decided to watch Firewall, starring Harrison Ford.

To my great astonishment, Chris splurged & bought us Ben & Jerry's ice cream - a scoop of Triple Caramel Chunk (Chris' pick!), and a scoop of Strawberry Cheesecake (my pick!), nestled in a waffle cone bowl! Mmmmmm!!

We're like old people, so we took a nap after that. When we woke up, we visited Old Town San Diego and had dinner at Rockin' Baja Lobster.

We had a bucket of shrimp & slipper lobster tails & an order of chicken & carne asada fajitas. A very filling & satisfying way to end our day!
