Fiasco Returning to LA

Mommy's corner: When we arrived at airport, it was super COLD! For some reason, my dad thought it would be best to do curbside check-in. Personally, I would have preferred to just check-in inside where it would have been warmer & not that much more work to get inside. Not to mention the fact that we had to tip the porter for not doing all that much to help us!
Anyways, we were outside in the cold, scrambling around for a while, because one of the luggage items was too heavy. Our other luggage had not exceed the weight allowance, so we were trying to just shuffle things around to make the weight even out in both bags. Sheesh, we were only off by a few pounds, too.
At last, after checking in 2 pieces of luggage, 2 car seats and 1 golf bag, we headed inside into the warmth. Once we got past the security checkpoint, we found a spot to settle in & feed Jason his formula.
Of course, Nicole was hungry, too - can you tell? Hearty appetite for a little girl. Ha ha.
Finally, we made it onto the plane, and I was so grateful that I had Chris with me on the flight home...I thought that everything would just work out so much easier with the two of us together.
And that would have been true, except....we had a layover in Salt Lake City, and we missed our connecting flight because the airline switched terminals on us! By the time we arrived at the correct terminal, they said we were too late! Too bad for us, we couldn't even get definite seats onto the next flight, but were put on standby! And at the last second, they said there were only two available seats, even though we needed three seats for all of us to go home. Tearfully, I took Nicole with me & said goodbye to Chris & Jason, who would come on a later flight.
When Nicole & I arrived at LAX, I began the arduous task of searching for our luggage. After realizing that I didn't have the claim tickets for our luggage, arguing with the airline that we had checked in 5 items, not 4, being informed that our luggage had not arrived yet, & several more misdirections, I stumbled onto the holding area where I SAW Nicole's car seat! After searching for a few more minutes, I located the other carseat, our luggage, and Chris' precious golf clubs - phew! What a relief. I'm sure Chris would have been really upset if anything happened to his golf clubs. We had already gone through another experience at LAX where some people were trying to steal Nicole's car seat, but Chris caught them just in time! So God really protected our belongings & we are so grateful.
While I was working things out with the airline regarding our luggage, praise God that Uncle Stephen arrived & was able to watch Nicole & allow her to run around & stretch her legs after 2 long flights. After retrieving our luggage, we even had time to go out to McDonald's for Nicole's 2nd round of french fries before Chris & Jason's flight arrived. Needless to say, we were all supremely relieved to reunite & return home after a long, tiring, stressful day at all the various airports.
