8 Months Old

Hey, look at that!...I'm 8 months old today!
Mommy's corner: Going to Picture People for Nicole's pictures has been a lot of fun! We've tried to go at least once a month, just to track Nicole's amazing growth. But it's definitely gotten to be a lot more work for us parents...Nicole used to sit and smile for the camera. But now, she'd rather crawl and grab for the camera! So, in this month's photo, even though she didn't smile for the camera, she has this wide-eyed curious look, coupled with her almost ready-to-go stance...all in all an appropriate depiction of where she's at for her 8 month old picture.
Convertible Car Seat

We're shopping for a new car seat because I'm starting to outgrow my current one. But I just can't seem to get comfortable in this thing!

...well, I guess it fits alright after all. I better get used to my new throne...come hither, loyal subject!
Top Two Teeth

Mommy's corner: we just noticed a couple of days ago that her top two teeth have arrived! We had to wrestle Nicole down to take this picture! Don't worry, she stopped crying the second we let her go!
Bye Bye Mammoth

Here we all are for our only group picture - we have just enough battery power for this one last photo! From the left, it's Uncle Jon & Auntie Talitha. Then there's me with Mommy & Daddy. And lastly there's Uncle Scott on the end. Bye bye, Mammoth!
Fishing, Footprints & Funny Hat

We started out the day fishing...but I found it quite boring and took a nap instead!

But Daddy caught a lot of fish, including this baby trout!

In the afternoon, Mommy & Auntie Talitha took me to a place called Color Me Mine, where people create their own artwork on different ceramic pieces. Mommy & I worked together for our artwork! We used my footprints to decorate our little square plate! I did a pretty good job for a first-timer, huh?

Peek-a-boo...if I only get this darned funny hat off!
First Family Hike - Twin Lakes

We went on our first family hike at beautiful Twin Lakes...

I'm piggybacking on Daddy using this cool backpack infant carrier!...

This hiking stuff looks like pretty rough terrain!
Family Vacation - Mammoth

We finally made it to Mammoth!...brrrr...it's really cold here at night! So I'm wearing my my personal pink sleeping bag that has openings for my neck & arms!

This place is great!...They even have a crib here that I can use!...

...and Mommy & Daddy created this cozy corner for me to play in! I'm surrounded by couches & this mattress they put on the floor!
Getting Ready to Go

We're packing up everything we need and getting ready to go on our road trip to Mammoth! Can't wait to go!
Wild Rivers

Daddy & Mommy have taken me to a water park today! This little dolphin swing is pretty cute, huh? I only wish my little legs were long enough to touch the water!

And we took a nice trip together on the "Lazy River Ride" in this cool inner tube that fits us all!

It was a bit sunny and a bit breezy, too - enough for me to snuggle into my duckie towel as we hung out next to the kiddie pool. We had a great time today!
Jail time

Mommy's corner: Since our little Nicole has learned to turn around and crawl and even sit up on her own, she's gotten into a habit of waking up and sitting herself just like this in her crib...that's because she's looking for me & Daddy on the other side! Looking at this picture never fails to crack me up because she's just sitting there, making all sorts of cute baby squeals, razzes & other noises, telling me that she's awake and ready to play. She's just waiting for me to take her out of her "jail"!
Big Feet

Yes, those are really my feet! And no, they're not thaaaaaat big, Mom!

You see, it's just that I do some good thinking with my feet up!

Like this! Hee hee hee!!
Pull to Stand

I can pull to stand all by myself! I can't do it all the time, but when everything is at the right height, I'll pull up so that I can reach more things that Mommy and Daddy are trying to keep from me!
Moving Boxes

Mommy's corner: For those of you who don't know already...our family is getting ready to move, and hence the white storage boxes all over our apartment. We'll be moving into a townhouse in Pasadena, that is, once it's fully constructed and the occupancy permit has been issued. We're definitely getting excited and looking forward to our new place! Hopefully, it won't be much more than a month or so before our big moving day!
Caught in the Act

Heh heh. Maybe if I can sneak in here real quietly, Mommy won't find out!

Opps! She found me!
Mommy's corner: Both Chris and I knew that this day was coming. Nicole has been playing around the ultrasaucer, trying to pull up on it, peering into the space underneath, looking all around it...but just wasn't successful at crawling into the space underneath. That is, until today! *sigh* So, it's just one more thing she can get into...!
First Nose Job

Mommy's corner: Okay, I know this is unusual, but hopefully nobody will think this is cruel! I thought baby would have fun playing around with a sticker, and before long, I stuck it on her face to see what her reaction would be. She was so confused - she thought it disappeared (that explains the lack of expression on her face), but it was right on her nose! And, actually, the look on her face was even more comical when I gently tugged on the sticker to peel it off! I couldn't resist taking this photo!
A Closer Look

Hey, Uncle Patrick!...

...can I get a closer look?
Laundry's Done!

I think all our laundry's done now! I'm the only thing left in here!
Peek-a-boo!

Peek-a-boo! Today we went to buy tires for Mommy's car...we'll be taking a family road trip in a couple weeks, and we wanted the car to be all ready for the drive!
