Thanks for letting us visit!

We are so grateful for my Uncle John & Auntie Vickie's hospitality! We had a great time in San Jose & can't wait until the next time we can return! We just feel bad for kicking out my cousin, Jonathan, out of his room each time!

Koi Palace

Uncle Hubert was raving about Koi Palace, which is supposed to have the best dim sum ever! I'm getting a hug from Uncle Hubert's nephew, Zachary - but what I'm really trying to do is try a bit of this dim sum!
After my nap, I got to return to the Lee Palace to hang out some more with my new friend, Amanda. Unfortunately, she's got a runny nose & isn't feeling so good today. But Nicole & Rachel had a great time at the Princess Palace - just look at the clip below!

Sunday Stuff

We went to church this morning & I was dropped off at the nursery. I'm sure the ladies were all nice, but I was eager to return to my Mommy & Daddy!
For dinner, we took our hosts (GrandUncle John, GrandAuntie Vickie & Jonathan) to Pizza Antica to enjoy a meal together. While we were waiting for our table, GrandUncle John let me play with this teeny little water fountain & it was a hoot! Look at the video below to see what a little water can do!
Phew! Still got some water left on me from playing with the water fountain, but we finally made it to our table!

Hanging out with Rachel & Amanda

So stinkin' cute! I LOVE ALL of this PRINCESS STUFF! I overheard Mommy & Auntie Winnie talk about how well we're getting along this time around. I think it's due to our shared passion for all things PRINCESS!
This time, Jason got to play around with Amanda! Isn't she cute?!

Children's Discovery Museum of San Jose

So totally fun!! The first thing we did was to go hang out at the Children's Discovery Museum of San Jose with Rachel! Even though none of us were looking, this is the only pic with all three of us in it! (Baby Amanda stayed with her grandma today.)
Rachel really enjoyed showing me the new Clifford exhibit! We both love Cleo!
And we REALLY had fun at the Bubbalogna exhibit making - you guessed it! - BUBBLES!

Road Trip to San Jose

For the upcoming Memorial Day weekend, we're taking a road trip to San Jose/Cupertino! Of course, we're zoning out in front of our personal movie theatre system here.
Gotta have munchies to go with the movie!
We stopped at Casa de Fruta to have dinner & found this great train by the restaurant!
Even Jason is enjoying his food & wants to try & feed himself!

Walking & Green Ball Hog

Mommy's corner: somewhere right around Mother's Day, Jason's really turned a corner with his walking! He's now up on his feet more often than on the ground on hands & knees. So I thought it's time to let him explore Kidspace some more....
He really is a green ball hog. Check out the video below.

Last Day of MOPS

Mommy's corner: Oh, {{{deeeeeeeeep sigh}}}. Today is the last day of MOPS and it truly is bittersweet for me. In the picture above, Nicole gets to perform a Bible song that she learned. That was the cute part. The sad part is that I will very much miss my small group of moms that I've gotten to know this past year. They have been the best small group I have ever been in, ever! I felt safe to be vulnerable & share my struggles & prayer requests and I always knew that each one of them have "been there" and "knew what I was talking about", especially in my struggles as a mom of young children and as a wife! But, as our group leader, Fumie, wrote to us - we're not a small group anymore, but we are FRIENDS! So, God bless you, my friends! I look forward to seeing how God will continue to grow our friendship!

Happy Mother's Day to my MOM!

This is the card I made for my mom for Mother's Day! Love you, Mommy!

This is my very first attempt at watercoloring! In real life, the water-colored image is sparkly & has got this wonderful, shimmery sheen! I used something called Twinkling H2O's, which are watercolor cakes with mica in it, which is what gives it that sparkle.

Stamps: Garden Collage, Noteworthy, Painted Posies, Linen
Cardstock: Regal Rose, Perfect Plum, Night of Navy
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black, Close to Cocoa, Regal Rose
Accessories: Twinkling H2O's (Playful Peony, Plum Blossom, Periwinkle, Yellow Rose, Golden Opal, Iridescent Violet), paintbrush, ribbon, swirly clip from Target

Mother's Day Events

Mommy's corner: I find that Mother's Day (and Father's Day, too) are always so chaotic, but in a festive way, I guess. We found grandma in the early worship service so we could pick & pin a corsage for her and take a family photo together.

This Mother's Day, I felt led to share a mini-testimony & lead worship at church. I talked a little bit about motherhood during the time Nicole was a toddler & Jason was in utero. I experienced a pregnancy-related depression & eventually chose to get some counseling (at Asian American Christian Counseling) in lieu of the antidepressant that my doctor prescribed for me. It was a difficult period, and my depressed condition was real, not just in my head. At the same time, I was not without hope, because I knew that my God was with me & would sustain me. So that was the long & short of my testimony! God is good & He takes care of me! Praise the Lord!

Happy Early Mother's Day!

Solid Eater

Mommy's corner: Because Jason had been sick so often from November to April, he had a tough time progressing in eating solid food. He might try something with texture and do fine, and then once he'd get sick, he'd revert & go back to just milk & baby food. In this picture, I don't even remember what he was eating, but it doesn't matter! With the following three factors, he's made so much improvement in wanting to eat solid foods: 1) administering pulmicort, to facilitate healing of airways, 2) sleeping through the night (makes him hungrier during the day w/o his middle-of-the-night bottle) and 3) getting more active & presumably burning more calories as he crawls (speed crawls, I should say!), pulls to stand & is getting better & better with his walking each day!

California Adventure with Kristen!

Woooooohooooo!!! Hoooooray!!! We're back in the Disneyland parking lot! No, we're not excited to be in the parking lot. We're excited to go to Disneyland, again! We're ready for another adventure, actually!....that is, the California Adventure! Mommy didn't quite explain it to me until today, but the tickets we used to go to Disneyland back in April, were actually Park Hopper tickets!
We found Boo and Kitty & Mike Wazowski! We're trying to tell Boo to stay inside & be careful!
Now, trying to convince Mulan to come & help us fight off these lines!
Maybe Jo Jo will help us out! She's so friendly!
Mommy & I got to ride in bumper cars together! I even got to drive - for real!

Believe it or not, surf's up! Let's go surfing, Kristen Jeh Jeh!
Or maybe we should surf together, like this!
I am so glad that Kristen Jeh Jeh is my friend! We had so much fun all day!! We're finally winding down now, waiting for the Electrical Parade to start!
Look, isn't the butterfly beautiful! I love the Electrical Parade!
