Mommy's visit to the Doctor

Mommy had a doctor's appointment today - I went with her so I can get my blood pressure checked, too!
Uh oh, is the doctor coming? Daddy says I better behave now!
We got to see my little baby brother with the ultrasound machine! I don't know when he's coming, but I have a feeling it'll be sooner than I think! I'm going to be a big sister before long!

Kidspace with Ryan

I got to hang out with Ryan at Kidspace today! We had fun playing together.
I even got to go up the Inter Antics Climber with Ryan & Uncle Eric, which mommy NEVER let me go before! She says she can't keep up with me....what's up with that!?
Thanks for helping me get up & out, Uncle Eric!

Daddy's Girl

Most of the time, people say that I look like my Daddy...I think I'm cuter, though.

Visit from Jeremy

I had a visitor today! Jeremy's come to see our new place! It was fun playing together!
I even shared some of my edamame beans with Jeremy.
But I don't think Jeremy wants to share his beans with me, though...
I hope you come again soon, Jeremy!

Valentine's Day

Today's Valentine's Day! Daddy took us girls out to Jamba Juice - it was my first time! And I loved the Strawberry Nirvana that Mommy shared with me!
Afterwards, we also went to Kidspace to have some fun!
I even had a Valentine's Day present to open! It was from my friend, Maddison!

Early Valentine's Celebration: Day 2

Mommy's Corner: After checking out of our hotel, we made our way to the 94th Aero Squadron for a very quaint Sunday Champagne Brunch.
Besides the regular section for hot food, they also had several different stations, including a carving station, waffle station, omelette & fajita station, even a cappucino station!
The cold section was Chris' favorite - the crab legs!
Of course, the dessert section was my favorite - they had a really yummy chocolate mousse cake - soooooo good!
We were so full from our brunch, we were glad to walk it off at the shopping outlets at Carlsbad! We bought shoes for the whole family!

Early Valentine's Celebration: Day 1

Mommy's corner: We enjoyed a simple, complimentary Continental breakfast at our hotel. (Who passes up free food?)
Then we went to check out the Chinese Cultural Fair in Downtown San Diego.
I was reminded that this year is the year of the Dog, according to the Chinese zodiac.
There was a large tent with fun craft activities for kids - I'm sure Nicole would have enjoyed making something here!
Then we enjoyed lunch at Islander Grill - a local hole-in-the-wall that serves food from Guam. Even though we had to wait over half-an-hour for our food, it was quite good! And we spent the time wondering where exactly is Guam...?
Took a quick picture in the dark movie theatre - we decided to watch Firewall, starring Harrison Ford.
To my great astonishment, Chris splurged & bought us Ben & Jerry's ice cream - a scoop of Triple Caramel Chunk (Chris' pick!), and a scoop of Strawberry Cheesecake (my pick!), nestled in a waffle cone bowl! Mmmmmm!!
We're like old people, so we took a nap after that. When we woke up, we visited Old Town San Diego and had dinner at Rockin' Baja Lobster.
We had a bucket of shrimp & slipper lobster tails & an order of chicken & carne asada fajitas. A very filling & satisfying way to end our day!

Early Valentine's Celebration: Trip to San Diego

Mommy's Corner: As an early Valentine's celebration, Chris & I snuck away to San Diego late tonight. While we're going to miss Nicole, she's in good hands with Po Po at home. We're settling into our hotel room here, enjoying complimentary wireless internet access!

Chinatown Library

Po Po & Mommy took me out to have dim sum today...I'm digging into my char siu bao first!
And then, we went to the Chinatown library - there's a lot of books for me to pick & read! And I like all those stuffed animals, too.
I decided to ask the monkey to read with me, but since he kept trying to get away from me, I decided to sit on him!

Starting Preschool

Mommy says that I'm going to preschool today...I keep telling her "Sunday School" instead!
Ah, never mind - let's go, Mommy! I'm ready for school!

Mommy's corner: Nicole has such an independent & active personality, we knew that preschool would be a great place for her to continue to learn & explore in the company of other children. Still, as I was saying goodbye to Nicole on her first day of school, I couldn't help feeling that stab of doubt, the lingering thoughts of whether or not we were starting too soon, the pang of sorrow that comes with realizing that my baby is growing up much too fast. Part of me just wishes I could go back in time & just hold my little baby again, for just a little bit longer, before she's all grown up...

My Own Kitchen

What a wonderful surprise! Daddy went to go pick up this fabulous kitchen play set from Uncle Donald & Auntie Susie who said that their daughter Michelle has outgrown it! I love playing with all the doors, the microwave buttons, the food, the plates & cups, putting on my kitchen apron...I'm going to have lots of fun in my little kitchen!
